“This is a major milestone for the Russian fishing industry. Working in concert with top Russian retailers and processors, we are set to ease consumer access to premium pollock-based products, boost domestic brand recognition, and strengthen the market presence of Russian pollock. We mean to continue our 'trawler dock to food shelf' strategy, which has proved a success since we launched it in 2024 in a bid to let more consumers appreciate the delicious wholesome taste of wild pollock”,

said Russian Fishery Company CEO Konstantin Globenko.

The deal between RFC and Perekryostok Trading cements the companies' resolve to collaborate in marketing marine wildlife-based foods with all the vital nutrients preserved intact. The parties single out pollock fillets, minces, surimi, and herring fillets as the products they will be looking to promote to consumers. The parties plan to work together vigorously in matters of new product development, engaging the processors in the collaborative development of B2C product formats sought-after in the marketplace.

“By partnering up with RFC, we are taking a big step toward boosting the popularity of Russian seafood and reshaping the consumer culture centered on our familiar, healthful products. We'll be working hard to develop new products while raising the quality and diversity of our offering to customers”,

said Alexandra Sukhareva, Director of Business Development for the Ultrafresh Category at Perekryostok retail chain.

The tripartite deal between RFC, Perekryostok, and Agama is intended to drive growth in the seafood market. The parties plan to fill the stores with ready-to-eat products from frozen block pollock fillets and minced surimi. The product portfolio is expected to include pollock fillets in different forms, many styles of crab sticks, and other top-selling products. RFC is ready to provide up to 3,000 tonnes of raw seafood annually to ensure the uninterrupted supply of finished products to consumers.

“We know there's an upturn in demand for Russian fish, and we think our best bet is to team up with others to supply that demand. It's easier to ensure stable supply and enlarge one's product range when you make plans together. This deal will buttress our effort in promoting domestic market growth and swaying consumer loyalties in favor of Russian-made seafood products”,

said Agama Istra CEO Vladimir Gorelov.

Another trilateral agreement was signed between the Russian Fishery Company, Perekryostok Trading, and Putina LLC. The parties pledge to advance innovation-driven joint projects, expand the seafood offering, and raise consumer appetite for pollock-based products. The product portfolio is expected to include a range of pollock roe products, crab sticks in different forms, and other top-selling packaged seafood options. Our partnership is set to give a powerful impetus to the market and set higher standards for product quality. We are confident that initiatives like these are good for Russian fisheries and conducive to a culture that favors domestic products”,

noted Putina CEO Evgenia Sinyakova.

The alliance between the three market leaders reflects the strategic choice that Russian companies have made to back the national fisheries sector and promulgate the consumption of locally sourced, eco-friendly produce. Their concerted effort in helping the consumer discover the benefits of wild pollock is certain to give the industry a new impetus and propagate a consumer culture that favors domestic products.
