"RFC's strong production results, strategic investments, workforce initiatives, and programs to expand wild whitefish consumption all support the company's sustained growth and highlight its ability to adapt to evolving market conditions. Pollock is becoming a recognized brand and is confidently reaching a new level of international recognition, strengthening Russia's reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality fish products,"
From Raw Material to Product
Over the course of the year, RFC harvested more than 423 tons of aquatic bioresources. The company continues its course of expanding the production of value-added products: pollock fillets, surimi, and roe. By the end of 2025, fillet production exceeded 37 thousand tons, an increase of 71 % compared to the previous year. Surimi production reached 60 thousand tons, 49 % higher than in 2024.
One of the company's priorities has become promoting the consumption of pollock roe in Russia and in the Chinese market. In 2025, RFC fishermen harvested over 7 thousand tons of roe. All super trawlers ranked among the top ten vessels in the basin for pollock roe production.
The Russian market is, as ever, one of the RFC's top priorities. Sales of value-added products on the domestic market grew by 27 % over the year, with pollock roe shipments increasing 2.5 times, fillet by 30 %, and surimi by 21 % compared to 2024. For the end consumer, this means that pollock is gradually gaining its own shelf space – from frozen fillets to ready-made products for retail and HoReCa.
Asia as the Key Driver
The external market reinforces this trend. RFC has expanded its presence in key markets in China, South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asian countries. In 2025, surimi sales to Asian countries, excluding China, more than doubled, while pollock fillet sales increased by 30 %. Additional growth was driven by Mexico, where shipments increased almost fivefold. A new export market is Uzbekistan, where the company quickly grew from zero to 5 thousand tons, offering pollock and herring to the market.
China continues to be the key driver. The Chinese market consistently makes up roughly 35 % of RFC's exports, and in 2025 total sales there increased by 17 %. The surimi segment is growing even faster, up 60 % over the year. Notably, RFC began supplying this product to China in 2022, and by the end of 2025 the volume had increased sixfold.
Pollock roe is another unique product, previously virtually unknown in the Russian and Chinese markets. In 2025, RFC significantly increased sales of this product from almost zero and expects exponential growth to continue in 2026. For this segment in Russia, RFC partnered with processor Putina to introduce mass production of pollock roe sacs for federal retail chains. In China, RFC collaborated with Asian chefs and other partners to create new pollock roe dishes, integrating the roe not just into "festive sandwiches" but across daily menus – from breakfast to hot appetizers.
Pollock as a Cultural Project
The company reinforces changing consumer perceptions of pollock through public initiatives. The third O!Mega Taste festival in 2025 was held across multiple formats – in restaurants, on the streets, and in major retail chains. More than 100 new recipes were showcased by chefs, and for the first time a dedicated O!Mega Breakfasts format was launched, highlighting pollock roe and helping to establish the product in a new market segment. Each year, the festival expands to more gastronomic venues, establishing itself as an industry platform for promoting wild whitefish.
RFC is actively forging partnerships aimed at increasing consumption of wild pollock. Traditionally, the O!Mega collaboration has included such companies as Meridian, Agama, KVEN, Perekrestok, Auchan, Pyaterochka, O!Key, Samberi, and the Fish Union. During Seafood Expo Russia-2025, RFC signed six strategic partnership agreements designed to strengthen collaboration and bring in new partners. Another significant event at the exhibition was the Golden Pollock award. For the first time, RFC conducted the ceremony of its international award among Russian partners. The Golden Pollock award is presented for effective collaboration, development and launch of new pollock products, high product quality, and successful market promotion.
Fleet as Infrastructure for Transformation
In 2025, RFC vessels ranked first across major fishing metrics in the Far Eastern basin. RFC's share of total pollock catch in Russia in 2025 amounted to around 20 %, totaling more than 412 thousand tons. The new generation of ST‑192 super trawlers allows up to 100 % of the catch to be processed on board, reducing the share of raw material exports and enhancing the sustainability of the business model.
RFC's fleet renewal investment program is actively ongoing. In 2025, construction began on the seventh and eighth ST‑192 super trawlers at the Admiralty Shipyards in Saint Petersburg, and in December acceptance certificates were signed for the transfer of two super trawlers to RFC – Kapitan Yunak and Mekhanik Shcherbakov. At present, the shipyards are putting the finishing touches on the vessels and completing equipment setup, as the ships are expected to begin fishing operations in 2026.
People and Workforce Strategy
Behind technological modernization lies systematic work with personnel. RFC collaborates with four industry universities and five colleges, runs a scholarship program that includes internships on RFC vessels with assigned mentors, and establishes career paths for young professionals. The expansion of these initiatives is included in the plans for 2026.
A new element of this system is the Competence Development Center, opened in February 2025 at the Russian Pollock plant. The center enables training of Baader mechanics by combining theoretical lessons with hands-on practice on operational production lines using the full set of tools. This significantly reduces personnel training time and decreases reliance on external experts for the maintenance of critical equipment.
Regional Development
In scope, RFC's social projects have long surpassed one-off initiatives. In 2025, the sixth season of the Clean Shore environmental project, with participation from company employees and volunteers, cleaned over 1,000 meters of the shoreline of Shchitovaya Bay in Vladivostok. Since the project began in 2020, participants have collected and removed over 30 tons of waste, transforming one of Primorye's popular beaches into a well-maintained public space.
In Vladivostok, RFC became a partner of the city's first children's EcoQuest, which brought together dozens of schoolchildren from across the city. Through interactive games, children learned about environmental issues and potential solutions, while the company shared its expertise on responsible environmental practices with young ecologists.
Another significant RFC project is its work with boarding school No. 1 for the rehabilitation of children with hearing impairments. With RFC's support, a photo studio and animation studio have been equipped with professional filming, editing, and post-production equipment, giving each child the opportunity to develop their skills. In 2025, two works by young animators received the Grand Prix and the Winner's Diploma at the international You Are Not Alone film festival, while the photographers achieved top honors at the regional stage of the Professionals competition in the Photography category.
RFC also maintains ongoing support for industry veterans and local sports initiatives, including the Dynamo basketball team.
